On match days, entrance to the ground is via the turnstiles, turnstiles open 1 and half hours before Kick Off.

Accident Reporting

If you are involved in an accident whilst at Hillsborough Stadium, please ensure this is reported to a steward/member or staff as soon as possible.

Alcohol

It is not permitted to bring alcohol into the ground. Searches can be conducted at all entrances of the stadium.
Alcohol is on sale at different outlets within the stadium.

Alcohol Sales Times

On matchday's alcohol can be served on all bars from when the turnstiles open. On all public bars alcohol can be served until the start of the second half of the match, but for some matches alcohol sales will stop at kick off. In all hospitality suites alcohol sales times post match may vary upon the licensee’s discretion, and subject to police advice.


Away Match Tickets

The club generally puts away tickets on sale three weeks prior to the fixture. These are sold in priority order with Season Ticket Holders first, Club Members second and general sale last. For certain games where demand exceeds the amount of tickets available the Ticket Priority Points system will be put in place.

Away Match Travel

The Club run official coach travel to and from every first team match. The InterCity Owl has two departure points, one from the Stadium and the other from Flat Street in the City Centre. Coach tickets can be purchased from the Ticket Office, online at shop.sheffieldwednesday.co.uk or over the phone on 0871 900 1867.

Areas of the Ground - Stands
There are five different stands within the ground: -

South Stand:
Situated on the side of the ground, the South Stand is the main stand. The Directors Box, Private Boxes and Hospitality Suites are situated in the South Stand which also houses the main Reception. The Managers and Players dugouts are within the South Stand and this is the stand where the players run out of.

Grandstand:
Situated on the tier above the South Stand is the grandstand which is also the official Family Stand. The seating area is high up but offers a superb view of the Stadium.

Kop Stand:
Situated behind the Kop on the Penistone Road side of the ground, the kop is the largest of the Stands housing over 11,000 seats. Supporters should be aware that there are two large supporting stanchions which impair the viewing from certain seats. Seats which are affected by these are clearly marked as restricted view. The Club band are situated at the top of the Kop.

North Stand:
Situated on the opposite side to the South Stand, the North Stand runs along the side perimeter of the pitch. The Westfield Disabled enclosure is situated within the North Stand which offers 54 wheelchair spaces and seating for up to 360 ambulant disabled supporters.

West Stand:
Situated behind the goal on the Leppings Lane side of the ground the West Stand is where the visiting supporters are allocated. The stand has an upper and lower tier and like the Kop has two supporting stanchions which do restrict the view from certain seats. Up to 4700 visiting supporters can be accommodated in this stand.

Baby Changing Areas

There are baby changing facilities on site. These are located in the Grandstand within the Family Stand and also within the South Stand.

Betting

Our on sight Bookmakers aim to offer Sheffield Wednesday fans the best odds available. Betting kiosks are available on all stands during the build up to the game. Supporters can claim any winnings after the game for 20 minutes from the central area of the Owls Megastore.

Car Parking

Car Parking is extremely limited at Hillsborough Stadium and we are unable to offer any car parking to the general public on matchdays.

To be mindful of our local residents we suggest supporters avoid parking on surrounding streets if possible. There are also parking restrictions around the stadium and it may be more convenient to use the number of council-run or independent car parks, which do charge a fee.

Cash Machines

There are no cash machines within the stadium and we do not offer a cash-back facility. The nearest cash point is at the BP Petrol Station which is about a five minute walk from Hillsborough. Please be aware that this machine does charge a fee for withdrawals.

Charity Requests

Sheffield Wednesday Football Club make donations to registered charities, community groups, religious groups, schools, nurseries, nursing homes and Armed Forces organisations within a 25-mile radius of Hillsborough Stadium.

Donations are made on the understanding that individual charitable organisations will auction or raffle the items for fundraising purposes. The club will donate items including signed SWFC replica shirts, match tickets, signed photos and signed programmes. The item donated is at the club's discretion and applications must be made by emailing charityrequests@swfc.co.uk or in writing, stating the registered charity number to:

Children

All children do require a ticket for games at Hillsborough. We offer age ranges from under 5s, under 11s and under 17s.

Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult at all games.

Cleaning

If you believe a specific area of Hillsborough Stadium requires some attention from the cleaning team, you can text or send a picture message to the Fans Phone on 07963 138580 or contact your nearest steward.

Complaints & Compliments

It is important to us that you raise any concerns you may have as soon as you can to help us bring the issue to resolution in a timely manner. As soon as the issue is identified, we ask you immediately to raise this with the relevant member of staff related to your query, or their line manager. Should this not resolve your issue, we request that you raise your issue with us including as many details of the issue as you can indicating the department which you feel is responsible for resolving the issue. Sheffield Wednesday Football Club Community Programme is the football club’s charitable arm, established to support the development of cohesive communities around South Yorkshire. Concessions

Sheffield Wednesday offer concessions tickets on all home games.
Concessions are offered to Under 21s,U17’s, U11s, U5s and Over 65s on standard match tickets. Further concessions are available for Students and Armed Forces personnel.
We offer concessions on Season Tickets for Under 11’s, Under 17’s, Under 21’s, Under 25’s, Over 65’s, Students, Armed Forces personnel and Disabled supporters.
Proof of eligibility is required for certain concessions.

Customer Charter

Sheffield Wednesday produce a Customer Charter which is reviewed and amended on an annual basis. The charter includes a range of policies, including ticketing, supporter consultation, community activities and customer services. Disabled Supporters

Sheffield Wednesday have a range options for disabled supporters. We have 100 wheelchair bays available on a seasonal or match by match basis.

We also offer Ambulant Disabled supporters the option of either sitting within the Westfield Disabled enclosure which is in the North Stand or within any part of the ground.

Carers are given free to disabled supporters subject to them receiving Disability Living Allowance on the middle to higher rate for care.

Disabled Car Parking

Disabled car parking is available in four different car parks on a seasonal basis. There is no Disabled Car Parking available on a match by match basis for home supporters due to the limited amount of spaces available. We do offer away supporters up to 9 bays within the Hillsborough Park car park which is available on a match by match basis.

Directions

Hillsborough is situated three miles north of the city centre, but visitors are advised to avoid this route and approach the ground from the north instead. Parking is possible in the area just north of Hillsborough.

By car

From The North/South/East - Exit the M1 at junction 36 and follow the A61 towards Sheffield. Continue along the road for approximately four miles until you go past Sainsburys Supermarket. Turn right (Leppings Lane) - the ground is situated on the left-hand side.

From The South/East (non matchdays only) - Leave the M1 at junction 33 and turn left towards Sheffield City Centre on the 'Sheffield Parkway' dual carriageway. Continue until the traffic lights (Cutlers Gate) and turn right on to Derek Dooley way and follow signs for the A61 towards Barnsley. Signs for Hillsborough are also prominent. The stadium is situated three miles from the city centre and is on your left-hand side after Hillsborough Park.

From the West - Take the A57 for Sheffield. As you approach the city the road splits in two - take the left fork onto the Rivelin Valley Road (A6101). Continue for approximately 3.75 miles, turn left (onto one way system) and follow the road round to the right onto Holme Lane. This road then becomes Bradfield Road. At the junction with the A61 Penistone Road, turn left towards Barnsley. Hillsborough Stadium is on the left-hand side after Hillsborough Park.

By train

Sheffield Railway Station (Contact Midland Mainline on 08457 221 125) is situated in the town centre, three miles from the ground.

By supertram

Take the South Yorkshire Supertram (signposted from the Railway Station) towards Middlewood Road (yellow route). Exit at the Leppings Lane stop, which is a short walk from the ground.

By bus

From the Railway Station, Flat Street Bus Terminus is a one-minute walk - cross over at the pedestrian crossing, and follow the signs. Bus numbers 53, 77 and 80 all run from Flat Street to Hillsborough.
From Angel Street, buses 74 and 74a run to Hillsborough.
From Snig Hill, buses 85 and 86 run to Leppings Lane.
From the Sheffield Transport Interchange, bus 57 runs past the ground towards Stocksbridge.
On matchdays, bus frequency should be roughly every 15 minutes.

Ejection Policy

At all times whilst present in the Ground, persons must comply with any and all instructions of any steward or officer of the Club and/or any police officer. Failure to comply with any instruction may lead to immediate ejection from the Ground.

E-Tickets

E-Tickets are exactly the same as standard match tickets but the supporter has the opportunity to print at home rather than collect the tickets or wait for them to be posted. E-Tickets are available to print for all home games and supporters have the opportunity to select E-Ticket at the basket stage of booking.

Family Stand

Sheffield Wednesday are dedicated to providing a family friendly environment both in and around Hillsborough stadium and we were delighted to be awarded the Football League Family Excellence Award for 2013,2014,2015 and 2017.

The official Family Area is situated within the South Stand Grandstand in Blocks N2, N3 and N4. The Family Area offers an excellent, unrestricted view of the pitch, and has wide enclosed concourses, large catering facilities and television screens. Ollie’s Kids Zone is located in the centre concourse behind the lifts and offers numerous pre match activities for youngsters aged 14 and below. Ollie the Owl is on hand to meet and greet supporters and members of the first team squad occasionally make a pre match appearance in Ollie’s Kids Zone.

Fans Phone

The Fans phone has been made available for supporters to report incidents or anything they feel the Club needs to be made aware about during the games. Supporters can report any incident of racist or anti-social behaviour or areas of the ground which they feel needs attention from the cleaning team by calling 07963 138580 on a match day which will go through to Stadium Control.

First Aid

The first aid room is situated on the North Stand and is staffed by medical staff from YAS and UKEMS, supported by a Crowd Doctor. Anyone with an injury or feeling ill should contact the nearest steward who will call for medical assistance.

Flag Procedure

All flags and banners must be approved and certified by the club. Approval for a flag or banner that has not been previously certified by the club must be sought at least 24 hours prior to the fixture. No sticks or poles will be allowed in the stadium. Flags or banners must not be torn, damaged or frayed. Flags must be displayed in accordance with the requirements of the club. Flags must not carry any extreme or inflammatory wording or motifs. Visiting fans intending to bring flags or banners into the ground must contact the Safety Officer in advance and a flame retardance certificate will be required.

Food and Drink

A range of food and drink is available in the ground within the concourses on all stands. Lindley Catering are the Clubs official Catering Partners and there are numerous options dining and drinking for supporters to enjoy during the build up to the game.

Ground Tours

We run ground tours at every Saturday (3pm games) game and supporters have the chance to see behind the scenes at one of the most famous stadiums. The tours begin at 10am and last approximately 2 and half hours. A must for anyone who wants to see behind the scenes at the famous stadium. Tickets are priced at £15 for Adults and £5 for Children and numbers are strictly limited each match day.

Hospitality

Sheffield Wednesday offer numerous hospitality packages which offer superb pre match meals and entertainment followed by exclusive seating to watch the game. Whether it is a match package in the Sheridan’s Suite or Dooleys Restaurant or a 10 seater box for one of the games our packages will make sure that match day is extra special. iFollow

Officially launched in summer 2017, iFollow looks set to shape the way EFL supporters abroad gain access to their team on match days by allowing them to watch live and uninterrupted coverage for the very first time in English Football history.

More than 1,500 matches are being made available to watch in HD through the iFollow network in it's debut season.

iFollow has been optimised for all devices and fans based in the UK and Ireland don't miss out as they still have access to live audio commentary, highlights packages and exclusive content as part of the new offering, rebranded to replace the EFL's former PlayerHD platform.

Instagram

The Sheffield Wednesday Instagram account now offers fans more content than ever throughout the week and really comes to life on matchday.

The account lets fans access areas of Hillsborough and grounds around the country that most people never see – making it an exclusive pass to Sheffield Wednesday fans.

Lost Property

Items found in and around the stadium are handed in to the main reception. This is where lost property is located.

Membership

The Owls Membership is the next best thing to being a season ticket holder. We have membership schemes available for Adults, Students, Armed Forces personnel and juniors Under 11 and Under 17s. The membership gives holders discounted match tickets as well as many other benefits.

Merchandise

The Retail store is based in the Megastore which is situated in the North Stand car park. The Megastore stocks a large range of official merchandise selected and manufactured exclusively for the Club.

Opening hours are:

Monday – Saturday 9am until 5pm. Please note that on Matchdays the Megastore closes at kick-off and for Saturday games opens for 45 minutes after the final whistle. For night games the store closes at Kick Off.

Online Bookings

Supporters can order their match tickets, season tickets, membership, travel and retail items online at shop.sheffieldwednesday.co.uk. Supporters are required to have a customer member number in order to complete a transaction online. If you are a first time visitor to Hillsborough you can sign up online and make an order once registered.

Match tickets purchased online can either be posted out, left for collection or the ticket can be and E-Ticket which is printed at home and used for entry on the match day.

 

Photography

No person (other than a person who holds an appropriate licence) may capture, log, record, transmit, play, issue, show or otherwise communicate (by digital or other means) any material in relation to the match, any players or other persons present in the Ground and/or the Ground, nor may they bring into the Ground or use within the Ground (or provide to, facilitate or otherwise assist another person to use within the Ground) any equipment or technology which is capable of capturing, logging, recording, transmitting, playing, issuing, showing or otherwise communicating (by digital or other means) any such Material.

Press & Media

Journalists and Photographers who would like attend a game at Hillsborough must apply for a press pass through Football Dataco, their website is www.football-dataco.com. All requests unfortunately cannot be accepted but those who apply will receive a response either way.

Prohibited Items

The following articles must not be brought within the Ground - knives, fireworks, smoke canisters, air-horns, flares, weapons, dangerous or hazardous items, laser devices, bottles, glass vessels, cans, poles and any article that might be used as a weapon and/or compromise public safety. Any person in possession of such items will be refused entry to the Ground.

Programmes

Programmes are produced for all first team games and are sold at different locations throughout the stadium on match days including the Megastore. The price of the programme is £3.

Reception

The Main Reception is situated in the South Stand and is manned between 8.45am and 5.15pm Monday to Friday and 9am until 12 noon on a Saturday. The main reception can be contacted by calling 03700 201867.

Refunds

Tickets will only be refunded if returned to the Ticket Office 24 hours prior to the appropriate fixture. There are no refunds on season tickets.

Search Policy

All persons seeking entrance to the Ground acknowledge the Club's right to search any person entering the Ground and to refuse entry to or eject from the Ground any person refusing to submit to such a search.

Season Tickets

Season Tickets are available for all home league games played at Hillsborough during each season. A season ticket holder not only guarantees their seat for every league game but also guarantees the best possible price to see each match. Season tickets can be purchased at the Ticket Office during the available sales windows.

Smoking Policy

Football League stadia are smoke-free and smoking is not permitted inside the Ground. E-cigarettes are not permitted. There are outside smoking areas situated in the Kop and North Stand.

South Stand Ticket Office

To ease the process with buying tickets, collections and general enquiries, there is a second ticket office in place in the South Stand car park.

Located opposite the players’ entrance, supporters can use this facility to purchase match tickets for the game, while still receiving their ticket priority points.

Fans watching from the South or Grandstand can now also collect tickets from here, whereas previously, collections were only available from Gate 6.

Supporter Liaison Officer

Sheffield Wednesday along with many other Football Clubs introduced the role as Supporter Liaison Officer in 2012

Teamcard Points

Teamcard points are issued to supporters when they make purchases in the Owls Megastore. Points are awarded to Season Ticket Holders, Club Members and Foundation Members.

10 Teamcard Points are issued for every £ spent in the megastore for Season Ticket Holders.
5 Teamcard Points are issued for every £ spent in the megastore for Members and Foundation Members.

1000 points is the equivalent of £10 to redeem on future purchases in store.

Supporters can accumulate points during the season and redeem them on future purchases. Teamcard Points expire on a yearly basis at the end of May and restart from the beginning of June.

Ticket Collection

Supporters who order tickets either online or over the phone and opt to collect their tickets will have their tickets ready for collection within 24 hours of booking. Tickets can be collected from the Ticket Office.

On home match days tickets are available for collection from the Ticket Office until 1 and half hours before kick-off. After this time tickets for the North and Kop Stands are available to collect from Gate 18 (situated next to the Ticket Office) and tickets for the South, Grandstand and West Stand are available to collect from Gate 6 (situated on the corner of the South and West Stand).

Ticket Office

The Ticket Office is based in the Megastore which is situated in the North Stand car park.

The Ticket Office sells home and away match tickets, season tickets, memberships and official travel tickets.

Opening hours are:

Monday – Saturday 9am until 5pm. Please note that on Match Days the Ticket Office closes at Kick Off and for Saturday games opens for 45 minutes after the final whistle. For night games the Ticket Office closes at Kick Off.

Supporters can also purchase any ticket related product at shop.sheffieldwednesday.co.uk. There are no booking fees for online transactions.

Or over the phone on 03700 201867 – supporters are advised that there is a £2 booking fee per ticket when purchased over the phone.

We accept cash, cheque (provided it is 7 days prior to the event) postal orders and all major credit cards except AMEX are accepted.

During busy periods you may experience longer than normal waiting times either in person at the Ticket Office or over the phone. Our staff work as hard as possible to keeps supporters waiting time to a minimum. We also have an overflow Call Centre who take the calls at busy times to reduce further waiting times.

Ticket Prices

Match Ticket prices vary depending on the grade of the game and location within the stadium. Season Tickets offer the best value for watching the Owls play. For those that can’t commit to a Season Ticket the next best thing is to become a member which offer a discount on match ticket prices.

Ticket Priority Points

Ticket priority points are issued to supporters when they attend a match. For each home or away match a supporter attends they are issued with 10 priority points. Season Tickets holders are issued with 230 for all home league games they have committed to.

Supporters will only be issued with Ticket Priority Points if they book the ticket under their specific Client reference number. If a supporter is booking more than one ticket they must allocate the other tickets under supporters in their friends and family list.

There may be specific games throughout the season where away match tickets are sold in Ticket Priority point order. This will happen for games where the demand exceeds the amount of tickets that have been made available to the Club.

Ticket priority points are non-transferable and supporters should note they work on a two season cycle.

Turnstiles

The Turnstiles open 1 and half hours before kick-off for all games for supporters to enter the stadium.

The Official SWFC Twitter account is @swfc. Our Twitter feed provides up to date news on everything Sheffield Wednesday.

The Ticket Office also has a Twitter account @swfcTICKETS to answer supporters questions. The account provides up to date ticket news and answers fans questions.

Under-23s

The Sheffield Wednesday Under-23s, also known as the club's Development Squad play all their fixtures at either Middlewood Road or Hillsborough. For fixtures at the main stadium, the South Stand is open for supporters to watch the game and a fee of £3 is generally applicable, whilst Season Ticket holders go free.

Visiting Supporters

Visiting Supporters are situated in the Leppings Lane Stand within the Upper Tier. If there is a large away following tickets may also made available for the Lower Tier of the Stand. There are 9 wheelchair bays also made available for away fans situated within the Leppings Lane Lower Tier.

Visually Impaired Supporters

Radio Commentary for Visually Impaired Supporters is available at every home game. There are 20 radio headsets available allowing the visually impaired to receive hospital radio commentary from any point in the stadium. Headsets must be collected from the club’s Main Reception in the South Stand for home fans and stewards at Gate 6 for away fans and must be returned to the same place after the match. These are available on a first come, first served basis with a minimum of three headsets reserved for away fans.

Wheelchair Bays

We have 100 wheelchair bays at Hillsborough. 54 are within the North Stand at the front of the Westfield Disabled enclosure, 36 are situated in the West Stand Lower Tier and 10 are situated in the Kop Stand. 9 bays are made available for visiting supporters.
