Visiting for the first time?

Hillsborough is an historic and traditional football stadium, with a current capacity of 34,835. The ground is situated in the North West of Sheffield just six miles from the M1 and three miles from the city centre. The postcode is S6 1SW.

There is limited parking available on matchday due to the residential nature of Hillsborough, with parking at the stadium permitted for permit holders only. Designated council car parking is available in the locality for a regular charge.

We do offer disabled supporters the opportunity to purchase a matchday parking permit within Hillsborough Park, situated directly opposite the stadium. Permits are priced at £5 and can be purchased from the Ticket Office but supporters should be advised of their limited availability.

There are five stands within Hillsborough, four of which are for home supporters only. If you are a visiting supporter, please use the West Stand only.

South Stand
The South Stand is the main stand, housing the main reception, the directors’ box, private executive boxes and hospitality suites. The dugouts and tunnel are also situated within the South Stand.

Grandstand
Situated on the tier above the South Stand is the Grandstand, containing the official Family Area of Hillsborough. The seating area is elevated but offers a superb view of the pitch. Activities are available before the game when possible.

Kop
Situated behind the goal on the Penistone Road side of the ground, the Spion Kop is the largest of the stands, housing over 11,000 seats. This area of Hillsborough has long been recognised through generations as an iconic vantage point for Wednesday fans.

North Stand
The North Stand runs along the entire side perimeter of the pitch and was the first cantilever build of its kind in the country. The Disabled Enclosure is situated within the North Stand which offers 54 wheelchair spaces and seating for up to 360 ambulant disabled supporters.

West Stand
Situated behind the goal on the Leppings Lane side of the ground, the West Stand is where visiting supporters are situated, with a maximum allocation of 4,700. The stand has an upper and lower tier.

Tickets

Tickets purchased in advance must be done so from the Ticket Office or online at shop.sheffieldwednesday.co.uk – each ticket has a unique barcode scanned upon entry to the stadium. Stand and seat details are clearly marked on each match ticket.

Supporters who book tickets online have the facility to print your ticket at home and present at the turnstiles.

Supporters who wish to visit the Ticket Office to purchase in person can do so between 9:00am and 5:00pm Monday to Saturday. The Ticket Office is located within the Owls Megastore located in the North Stand car park (entry off Penistone Road).

Ticket prices for each fixture vary depending on the respective category. Home tickets generally go on sale around three to four weeks before the fixture.

A matchday programme is produced for all home first team fixtures and available to purchase from various locations/sellers around the ground on matchdays as well as the Owls Megastore.

The Megastore offers a variety of official SWFC merchandise, from pocket money items to hats and scarves, leisure wear and replica kits. The opening times mirror those of the Ticket Office – Monday to Saturday 10:00am to 4:00pm.

On Saturday matchdays the Ticket Office and Megastore close at kick-off and reopen for 45 minutes after the final whistle. For evening fixtures the store is open until kick-off but does not open after the game.

Each matchday fans have the chance to win in our 50/50 draw. Tickets are £1 each and we have sellers situated around the ground before every game. At half time the winners are announced pitchside over the tannoy and we usually have a former Wednesday player drawing the winning tickets to add to the excitement!

Ozzie Owl is the official club mascot, alongside brother Barney. Both can be seen in and around the stadium meeting our young fans and posing for photos. They are more than happy to stop for a picture so make sure you ask, but be warned they can be a little cheeky!

They are even on social media too! Follow them on Twitter here; Ozzie Owl and Barney.

The turnstiles open at 1:30pm on Saturday for 3:00pm kick-offs and at 6:30pm for 7:45pm kick-offs.

INSIDE HILLSBOROUGH
Once inside, various kiosks offer hot and cold drinks and snacks. Till units accept card payments and we have card-only tills available to help beat the queues. TVs are visible on most concourses generally showing Sky Sports and latest scores from around the country.

A giant screen is positioned in the South West corner of the stadium, so if you miss a goal or important part of the action, replays are swiftly displayed.

The Owls are extremely active across all social media platforms so why not visit one of our official pages on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.

When you leave the stadium, please be aware of potential traffic congestion, which can extend all the way to motorway entrance points in the city. Visit one.network for information on road closures and regular traffic updates in the area from Sheffield City Council cameras.
