New Owls striker Sam Winnall was happy to start with a win in his debut appearance for Wednesday in the 2-0 win over Huddersfield.
Winnall came off the bench in the second half and made an immediate impact as goals from Ross Wallace and Fernando Forestieri sealed the win against play-off rivals Town.
Winnall said: “It’s a good start.
“It’s nice that the gaffer believes in me and trusts me to come on and do a job.
“I think I did well in my first game and I know there’s a lot more to come from me, so hopefully I can show that and help the team keep getting wins.
“I’m not one for setting targets, I just want to go into each game looking to score goals.”
The Owls’ second half performance was deserving of the win after what was a slow start to the game and Winnall said the players knew what they had to do.
He added: “We knew the first half wasn’t good enough, but then in the second half we really upped the tempo and put on a performance and got the win we deserved.
“Ross’ goal was just what the game needed, that spark and bit of magic, it was some goal, I was stood right behind it and it looked great!
“It was a good win and I just want to kick on now and focus on helping the team.
“It’s a great start to life at Sheffield Wednesday!”
