Big month ahead

27 February 2017

Assessing the Owls’ schedule in the coming weeks, Carlos Carvalhal says March will be a big month for Sheffield Wednesday.

Three of the Owls’ four games next month take place at Hillsborough, starting with Saturday’s clash against Norwich.

The Canaries are six points behind Wednesday in eighth spot after their 1-1 draw with Ipswich on Sunday.

Also visiting Hillsborough in March are Burton Albion and Reading, while the Owls’ face Aston Villa in their only fixture away from home.

The head coach said: “I will look to the future and in the next four games we have three home and one away.

“It will be a very important month to us and we want to achieve a good position at the end.

“We go into all the games positively, fighting for the three points and thinking that we can win. It will be like this in the next game and the next game and the next game.

“We achieved good results, for example, in Newcastle and Huddersfield because we played positive and went there to win.

“We go into all the games positive.”

After a close-fought contest against Leeds on Saturday, the Owls were left frustrated going down 1-0 at Elland Road and Carlos added:

“We don’t go into the next game with any more pressure because all the time at Sheffield Wednesday we have that pressure to win three points.”
