Bigger and better Owls in the Park

21 July 2016

Thousands of Owls fans flocked to Hillsborough in the sun last weekend and helped create the biggest Owls in the Park yet!

As well as meeting first team players, head coach Carlos Carvalhal and Owls chairman Dejphon Chansiri, fans had a whole host of activities and entertainment to enjoy from dance and singing performances, to watching the county’s biggest dog show to enjoying the Hallam FM stage area.

More than 30 charities, including charity partners Bluebell Wood, Royal Society for the Blind, St. Luke’s and Support Dogs, raised money for their causes with thousands being donated from generous Owls fans.

Matt Bray, Social Inclusion Manager for the SWFC Community Programme, said: “Owls in the Park is a terrific family event and this year we saw even more charities than ever get involved, people visiting and more trade and catering outlets attend.

“We are still counting the money raised from the weekend but it is already looking like the most successful event to date. The Community Programme ran several activities on the day including bubble football, a 5-a-side tournament and the walking football team playing a game.

“Thanks to everyone who came down to the event to make it the best yet! See you next year.”
