Carlos calls for Owls ruthless edge

23 November 2016

Leaving Craven Cottage with just one point after a good display was a bitter pill for Wednesday to swallow last weekend.

But the positives that came from the performance in the capital have given the Owls plenty to build on ahead of Saturday’s trip to Wolves.

The Wednesday head coach has stressed the importance of taking chances and killing games in order to avoid the frustrating scenario that unfolded at Fulham in stoppage time.

“The problem is not the last minute,” Carlos explained. “We were penalised because we didn’t score the second goal.

“We must kill the game, we must do this. We created chances to kill the game with the second goal but we didn’t score.

“After, with the pressure and when the opposition put more players in the attack then these kind of things can happen.

“For this not to happen in the future, it’s not just for us to protect our goal, we must score.”

It’s a big challenge that lies ahead for Wednesday this weekend as Wolves, under new boss Paul Lambert, are expecting their biggest attendance of the campaign so far.

Wolves, though, go into the fixture eight games without a win and you can listen LIVE online exclusively on Wednesday PlayerHD.
