Carlos Carvalhal has hailed the hordes of Wednesdayites who have followed the Owls to Portugal on the club’s pre-season tour in Europe.
Supporters were out in numbers in trademark style as Wednesday beat CD Nacional 4-0 to extend their recent run of resistance.
And Carvalhal said: “They are really amazing. Portugal is a long way to come but they are here and so many of them also.
“I would like to thank all of them on behalf of everyone at the club because what they do is incredible.
“Sheffield Wednesday is a special club because of them and this is something we will never forget.”
