Charitable Wednesdayite’s African adventure

8 March 2017

Lifelong Wednesday fan Will Rae, 15, will be heading to Kenya for four weeks with the world renowned Camps International Organisation, who run multiple expeditions across the globe to support third world communities.

On his expedition, the young Owl will be joined by other young people from around Britain who  work to improve the livelihood of local children in six different ways: education, housing, healthcare and sanitation, food and water security, environmental protection and sustainable livelihoods.

Before he can embark on the trip, Will needs to raise £3,650 which contributes to costs such as transport, building materials and wildlife conservation.

The Owls heard of Will’s charitable adventure and donated one of Barry Bannan’s match-worn shirts for auction.

Club officials also invited Will to come and meet his favourite player Bannan himself at our Middlewood Road training ground.

The Scottish international’s shirt is now up for grabs, so to bid, make a donation to help Will or for more information, please contact Will’s father at john.d.rae@btinternet.com
