“If the score is open, nobody will go out of the stadium because they will always believe Sheffield Wednesday can score in the last second,” said Carlos Carvalhal ahead of today’s clash with Birmingham.
Having comeback in the last three outings, two of which included goals with almost the last kick of the game, Carlos says belief is high in the camp.
While acknowledging how crucial it is to strike first in the Championship, Carlos has confidence in his side to hit back and respond in a positive manner.
He explained: “When I arrived here all the people told me, and it’s true, that in this competition if you score first you have a massive advantage in the game.
“That is a reality. When you take one goal or two and manage to turn the game around it shows a lot about the team. From three games, we have won seven points in these conditions.
“It’s fantastic for motivation and for belief. These kind of games make us believe and this is important in football and in life, that you can change things.”
