Fresh from his close season break, Fernando Forestieri says the summer went by ‘in the blink of an eye’ as he looks forward to the new campaign.
The newly-wed Owls dynamo enjoyed some hectic time away from football but is now ready to go ahead of 2016/17.
He said: “It was busy for me during the summer with my wedding and honeymoon and everything went by in the blink of an eye.
“It seems I closed my eyes, opened them and we are back for pre-season. But I am excited, I am happy, and I want to help us achieve good things.”
Forestieri has warned, though, that a far from easy season is on the horizon for Wednesday.
He added: “It will be hard, for sure. There are some very strong teams in the Championship this season and we want to be one of them.
“It will not be like last season as everyone can see what we did.
“But that is great motivation for us as no one wants to succeed more than the players that we have at Sheffield Wednesday.”
