Injury update ahead of Ewood Park trip

26 September 2016

Carlos Carvalhal says a number of injury concerns within the camp will be assessed tomorrow ahead of the clash with Blackburn Rovers.

Wednesday travel to Ewood Park and the fitness of Barry Bannan and Daniel Pudil will be monitored until late in the day.

Bannan was substituted midway through the second half in the comeback win over Nottingham Forest, while Pudil has missed the Owls’ previous two outings.

“There are some questions that we will have to answer in the last minute and Barry is one of them,” Carlos said.

“But not just Barry, there are some players that are with a little problem.

“We do have good expectations that all of them will be able to play but we must wait until tomorrow to have the final decision. Barry is one of the players in this situation.”

Tom Lees will be available for selection after suffering with illness last weekend that saw him make way on the hour mark of the victory over Forest.

“Tom Lees is ok,” Carlos added. “He was just with a fever.

“Let’s see about Daniel Pudil also. We must make the decision about him, he is training normal but tomorrow we will do the last test.

“David Jones was with a little problem also, he trained today but we will see tomorrow.”
