With the final break of the campaign upon us, swfc.co.uk takes a look at the Owls players away on international duty.

First up, Owls trio Barry Bannan, Jordan Rhodes and Steven Fletcher have joined up with the Scotland squad.

A friendly with Canada at Hibs’ Easter Road will take place on Wednesday 22 March before the Scots face a crucial World Cup qualifier against Slovenia.



The Group F clash will be staged at Hampden Park

Wednesday 22 March – Scotland v Canada – Easter Road

Keiren Westwood has been included in Martin O’Neill’s final squad for the games with Wales and Iceland. 

The Republic will be looking to continue their strong start in the World Cup qualifying campaign, where they sit top in Group D.

Ireland host Wales at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium on 24 March (7.45pm) before hosting Iceland in a friendly the following week.

Atdhe Nuhiu has been called up to the Kosovo squad.

Kosovo host the Group I fixture against Iceland in Shkoder at the Loro Borici Stadium.

They currently sit bottom of the group with one point from their first four games.

Owls youngster George Hirst will again represent England at Under-18 level.

England play three fixtures at The Aspire Complex during their ten-day star in Doha, Qatar.

Owls defender Connor O’Grady has been called up to the Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad for the forthcoming UEFA Under-21 Championship Qualifying Round Group 5 fixture with Kosovo.

This will be the Republic’s first qualifying fixture as they bid to reach the 2019 UEFA Under-21 Championships, which will be co-hosted by Italy and San Marino.

Ireland are grouped with Germany, Israel, Norway, Azerbaijan and Kosovo, who are entering the UEFA Under-21 qualifiers for the first time.

Owls forward Fraser Preston is in the Scotland Under-19 squad.

As Ricky Sbragia’s side bid to qualify for the finals this year in Georgia, the Scots will face Austria, Hungary and group hosts Czech Republic between 22-27 March.
