Owls education programme launch new BTEC course

The Sheffield Wednesday Education programme have joined forces with an education and training provider, Plusnet and Waitrose to provide a leading higher education business course in Sheffield.


Education and training provider RNN Group, which includes Rotherham and North Nottingham colleges, will work with SWFCCP and international companies Plusnet and Waitrose to provide a new BTEC Level 3 Business courses to students aged 16 to 18.


As well as access to the study centre at Hillsborough students will also enter into work placements and attend workshops with guest speakers from industry experts.


The aim of the course is to gain theoretical business knowledge as well as build up work skills to help students become more employable when they go on to seek full-time employment.


Spencer Taylor, CSR Manager at Sheffield Wednesday, said: “This is a fantastic partnership that will benefit so many young people and we’re really excited to be working with the companies involved.


“Not only will students learn business theory they will gain vital work experience skills and contacts for the future.”
