Owls in the community

3 October 2016

So far this season Sheffield Wednesday players have shown an impressive level of support in helping the club deliver exceptional work in the community around the city and its surrounding areas.

Since the start of the season Owls players have taken part in the club’s annual community fun day, Owls in the Park, supported local charity initiatives and helped the Community Programme promote their projects and visit local schools and community groups.

One example includes players working in conjunction with the Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme. Owls stars Adam Reach and Kieran Lee last month showed their support by attending an event at the club’s new Education Centre where they were on hand to open the new state of the art table tennis facility.

The Owls community support kicked off at the beginning of the season where the whole team attended Owls in the Park where the players met hundreds of fans throughout the day and took time to sign merchandise, pose for photos and talk to fans.

Other support has included Owls players Sam Hutchinson, Barry Bannan, Liam Palmer and Steven Fletcher helping launch the Community Programme’s Premier League 4 Sport project to young people in and around Sheffield.

The club are also pleased to announce that the Community Ambassador for the 2016/17 season is Owls winger Adam Reach.
