Tough test for both

8 December 2016

As third-placed Reading face sixth-placed Wednesday, Carlos Carvalhal expects a tough test for both sides at the Madejski on Saturday.

The Royals will be looking for a reaction on home soil after an uncharacteristic 5-0 loss last time out at Fulham.

Wednesday, meanwhile, will be aiming to extend their good run of late that has seen Carlos’ side climb back into the top six positions.

Discussing Reading’s defeat at Craven Cottage last weekend, the Owls head coach said: “This gives us more credit for what we did in the Fulham game. That is the conclusion we have from this match.

“Because before, they won 5-0 against Huddersfield, they won 2-0 in Brentford and then 5-0 against Reading. So it gives us more credit for what we did there.

“We didn’t win that game because we were very unlucky but for Reading, these kind of accidents can happen to any team in the competition.

“Reading are doing a fantastic season so far, they were with an accident in the game with Fulham and we believe they will try to react.”

He added: “They are a team that are doing very good work, play positive football, have good players and it will be hard to us.

“They manage the ball very well and score goals.

“But it will be tough to them because we are not an easy team to play against. We have a good vibe, are very positive and acting strong like a team which is the most important thing.”
