Carlos Carvalhal says both Tom Lees and Gary Hooper are making good progress in their return to action.

The head coach confirmed at Thursday’s pre-match press conference that the trip to Nottingham Forest will come too soon for Lees.

Hooper, meanwhile, is expected to resume full training on Friday and a decision will be made then as to his involvement at The City Ground.

"Tom Lees is progressing,” Carlos said. “He’s not ready but is progressing. Gary Hooper is closer, he is training with the team, he is not training in full but he is training.

“Soon both will be available.”

Elsewhere, Sam Hutchinson and Morgan Fox left the action early in Wednesday’s victory over Blackburn in midweek and the head coach added:

“We expect Sam to recover but we are not sure yet, also with Morgan Fox we have good expectations and we will know tomorrow.

“The game was a short time ago, sometimes a kick one day is one thing and on another day, it is completely different.

“But we have a squad where we trust in all the players. If one can’t play, another will come in because we have good expectations for all the players in the squad.”
