We move on and stick together

11 December 2016

The Owls face a huge week of Sky Bet Championship action with back to back South Yorkshire derbies at Hillsborough.

First up on Tuesday is a clash with Barnsley, as the Reds make the short trip to S6 before Rotherham visit Hillsborough on Saturday.

In a tight division where anything is possible and the stakes always high, Carlos Carvalhal says it’s vital everyone connected with the club stick together and put everything into Tuesday’s derby.

Underlining the importance of the home fans in particular this week, Carlos said:

“Me like a person and me like a coach, the fans are something I have in my heart.

“You will never hear me say one bad word about our fans because they are something I have in my heart.

“The Sheffield Wednesday fans are amazing all the time and they are a big part of this special team we have here.

“We need them, the players need them and we must all stick together because when we do this, we are very strong.

“That is the most important thing in a competition like the Championship, a very tough competition.

“We are focused only on the next game, the players know how important these kind of games are and we know what they mean to everybody.

“What we ask of the fans is to be at 100%, get right behind the team, give confidence to the players and be in their usual high levels and we will be more strong for these game, absolutely sure.”
