A typical Championship game

3 October 2015

Carlos Carvalhal was happy to see the Owls win in what he described as a typical Championship match.

Wednesday beat Preston 3-1 to extend their winning run to four games and move up to tenth in the table.

Carvalhal said: “We knew this game would be difficult as Preston are a good side and we need to concentrate to keep winning matches.

“It was a typical Championship match, even when we are winning 2-0 we need to stay focused as things can change very quickly as this level of football.

“We played well but Preston caused us some problems that we had to adapt to later in the game, which we did, and I was happy when Lewis confirmed the result with the third goal.”

The Owls now have a two-week gap before the next game against Hull due to the international break and Carvalhal believes it has come at a good time.

He added: “Some people think the break is bad because it stops the momentum when we are winning.

“However, I think it is a good thing as the players can get a rest and be at 100% for the next games.

“We are in a good way and all of the players are happy and working hard in training to fight for more good results.”
