Bannan on form and enjoying life at Wednesday

25 October 2015

In-form Owls midfielder Barry Bannan says he is thoroughly enjoying his football with Wednesday.

Bannan joined the Owls at the end of August and has significantly bolstered the engine room with his energetic and classy performances.

The Scotland international is happy with his form but is eager to start adding goals to his game.

He told swfc.co.uk: “I feel really happy with my game at the moment, the only thing holding me back is that I need to score goals.

“I’ve not scored enough goals for the way I play but I’m getting into all the right positions now which is encouraging.

“I’m sure that will come for me but I am enjoying my game at the moment and I enjoyed it on Friday night.

“I was happy with how I played but I wanted to finish it off with a goal.”

Wednesday continued their fine run in the Championship with a 2-1 win over South Yorkshire rivals Rotherham on Friday.

The Owls now look forward to the Capital One Cup clash with Arsenal at Hillsborough and Bannan continued:

“You want to win these big games but we’re on a good run as well at the moment and we want to keep that going too.

“We weren’t happy with our first half at Rotherham but we got ourselves together and I thought they couldn't live with us in the second half.

“We know anything can happen in this league if you strike a few wins together. We are on a roll at the minute and long may it continue.”
