Bigger and better!

30 July 2014

  • First chance to see new-look matchday programme tonight
  • Page count increased to a giant 84 pages
  • Price frozen at £3
  • Pick up your copy of the award-winning publication as the Owls face Newcastle United

Taking on board supporters’ feedback and following internal reviews, the Owls’ matchday programme ‘Wednesday’ is back this evening – bigger, better and more interactive than ever before.

And for the 2014/15 season, the page count has risen from 76 to a giant 84, while the cost has remained at just £3 to give supporters extra value for money.

Not only has the cost been frozen, but so has the advert count, meaning those additional eight pages are all fresh Owls content!

On top of that, the 2014/15 version of ‘Wednesday’ will see supporters become more involved as interaction is now a key element to the matchday publication.

The SWFC media department is asking supporters to get involved in each edition and the brand new feature #asktheplayers makes its debut tonight in the Newcastle programme.

In the build-up to each edition, Wednesday fans will be encouraged to send their questions to the nominated Owls star, and the best will be put to the players and printed!

So if you recently asked midfielder Giles Coke a question through the club’s Facebook page and Twitter account, then check to see if you feature tonight!

Over the past six seasons, the Owls’ matchday programme has consistently scooped coveted awards in its field across a number of categories and added to that growing list last term, claiming a Merit Award for ‘the consistency of a top quality football programme over a number of years’.

This season, the programme is aiming even higher and fans can gain a first look tonight as Wednesday face Premier League Newcastle.

And to kickstart the new campaign, tonight’s programme runs at a full 84 pages, bucking the trend of reduced paginations for pre-season friendlies of the past.

So we’ve done our bit and you can do yours tonight!

‘Wednesday’ is priced at just £3, pick up your copy from the various selling points positioned around Hillsborough and see what you think!
