Charity partner – The Royal Society for the Blind

13 February 2015

The official charity partner for tomorrow’s game is The Royal Society For The Blind (SRSB) and Sheffield Wednesday are proud to support the Sheffield organisation to raise funds and awareness.

The SRSB specialise in providing opportunity, support, friendship and services to more than 3,300 blind and partially sighted people in Sheffield, helping them to achieve whatever they wish to do and whatever they aspire to be.

Earlier this season, the charity recently ran a special soccer camp at the club’s training ground for children who the charity actively support. The camp was delivered by specialist coaches from the club’s community programme.

Owls striker Atdhe Nuhiu also went along to the camp and met some of the children and their families. He even tried on some special simulator glasses to mimic the feeling of having distorted vision. He attempted some kick-ups in the glass which proved a lot harder than normal!
