Converting chances

3 March 2015

With seven goals in three games, Stuart Gray is urging Wednesday to continue their run in the final third.

The Owls fired two goals past Middlesbrough on Saturday after hitting three at Millwall earlier in the week.

And having found their scoring touch, Gray wants that to continue as the Owls prepare for the game with Blackburn under the S6 lights on Wednesday evening.

He said: “I knew the goals would come.

“It was a case of us not converting our chances. We were always creating but in the last three games, we have scored seven goals.

“But we have to make sure we keep going.”

A dominant second half display against Boro on Saturday gave Gray plenty of satisfaction as Wednesday registered two goals and another clean sheet.

He added: “There was a lot of satisfaction in converting our chances and getting the two goals we did.

“We haven’t scored enough goals at home but the manner of the win and clean sheet against Middlesbrough was credit to all the players.

“The supporters could see the effort and commitment and were with the players from the start right to the finish.

“We’ve got Blackburn on Wednesday, another tough game, but we’re at home and full of confidence.”
