- Claude Dielna scores late winner at Ewood Park
- Frenchman delighted with victory over Blackburn
- Dielna was 91st minute substitute and scored in the 93rd
Claude Dielna may have only been on the field for a matter of minutes but the Frenchman produced the moment of the match right at the last.
The powerful defender’s 25-yard strike arrowed into the net in the 93rd minute to win the game for Wednesday after his introduction from the bench just two minutes earlier.
Dielna exclusively told swfc.co.uk: “You give me one minute, I give you a goal. That is no problem for me. Every day I work hard and I know what I can do.
“I want to show everybody that I can play at this level and I am confident in my ability.
“I’m happy because I haven’t played for a long time, I’m happy for the group because this team works so hard and we wanted that win today.”
The stopper spoke of the moment his first-time hit rippled the back of the net.
He said: “Lee gave me the ball and when I have chance to shoot, I shoot.
“I never need a second invitation to shoot.
“For me, this is what I work for. I come to work every day to improve and to get better. I feel really good, it was a special feeling but I don’t want to stop there.
“I’m happy for all our fans tonight.
“It was a hard game but we showed we have a strong mentality and that is why we won the game.”
