Claude Dielna has made the Football League Team of the Week for the Championship following the dramatic 2-1 win at Blackburn on Saturday.
The Owls’ defender was only on the Ewood pitch for a matter of minutes but what an impact the Frenchman made, firing a long-range winner right in front of the travelling hordes.
Here’s what the Football League had to say on their website today:
“Dielna was introduced in the closing stages of the Owls' match at Blackburn to add defensive stability, but he turned out to be the hero by scoring a last-gasp winner for Stuart Gray's side, sending the travelling supporters into raptures.
“A bold choice, considering he was only on the pitch for a short while, but his goal was decisive, and manager Gray felt the victory was deserved.”
