Making the point

25 March 2015

With the Owls having already matched last season’s points total, Stuart Gray is urging his side to reach the next milestone.

Last weekend’s dramatic derby win at Rotherham saw Wednesday move level with the 2013/14 return of 53 points.

And with seven games left to play, Gray is challenging his players to continue on an upward curve.

He said: “Every football club has to make progress year on year.

“It’s a big positive that we have reached our total of last season but we don’t want to stop there.

“The target now is to get to 60 points, which is achievable.

“I want to finish as high up the table as possible and we have to make sure there is no danger of our season petering out.”

The football calendar has a blank this weekend due to the final international break of the campaign and the Owls return to duty on Saturday 4 April against Huddersfield at Hillsborough.
