Forestieri looks to the future

30 August 2015

Fernando Forestieri has high expectations for the next chapter of his hugely promising career at Hillsborough.

The coveted forward has signed a four-year deal with Wednesday and is excited by the S6 project.

The 25-year-old has flourished since moving to England with former club Watford, with his dazzling skills and attacking threat making him one of the most exciting operators in the division.

He told swfc.co.uk: “I’m very happy because this is a big and exciting project at Sheffield Wednesday.

“I spoke with the chairman, it is a big project and I know there are some very good players here, with a lot of quality so I’m very happy to be part of this team.

“We must focus on each game as they come and get closer to our big aim which is to go up.”

Forestieri, who scored 20 goals from 48 league starts for the Hornets, continued:

“I know the championship is very hard and we all need to believe in the project here at the club and enjoy it.

“There is a lot to look forward to in the future at this club and I’m happy to be here and be part of it.

“I came here late on Friday but I have liked what I have seen, I like the city and I have seen the supporters in the stadium behind the team and now I want to get started.

“I hope I can experience great things here and I’m looking forward to everything that is to come.”
