Dave Jones was pleased with another pre-season workout as the Owls cruised to a 4-1 win at SPL side Kilmarnock on Wednesday.
The game, to mark the testimonial season of Killie defender Jamie Fowler, was dominated by Wednesday, who posted a comfortable victory.
Jones said: “It was another good workout and the idea was to give everyone a game who hadn’t featured too much so far.
“It was all about keeping the ball, working hard and I think the boys did that in a game that was played at testimonial pace.”
Jones was particularly pleased with the performance of Marlon Harewood, who signed off his pre-season with a hat-trick at Rugby Park.
The manager said: “Marlon did well, scored some goals and showed what he can do.
“We will probably sit down with him next week and make a decision.”
Jones concluded by issuing an update on the situation of midfield man Chris Lines, who departed Saturday’s friendly with West Brom early with a groin strain.
The news is not good on the former Bristol Rovers playmaker.
Jones said: “Chris is facing around eight to 12 weeks out. It’s not great news but it’s a lot better than what we thought it was on Saturday.
“What that does is open the door to someone else because somebody will take that shirt.”
