Gray targets Owls consistency

24 October 2014

A consistent run of positive results in the Championship is easier said than done but that is the aim of Stuart Gray.

After 13 games, the second tier is wide open and the Owls head coach can sense an opportunity to make inroads up the division.

But in order to achieve that, the Owls boss wants to see an improvement in home form starting this weekend with Norwich in town.

“At the moment there are probably only the likes of Bournemouth and Derby who are the most consistent and winning games.

“Then there’s Forest, ourselves and even Norwich who are drawing a lot of games but with the strength in depth they have and the quality in their squad, I’m sure they’ll be up there.

“It’s a tough test and another game against a top six side so it has been a difficult start for us but we’ve shown against the top teams, we can get a result.

“The division is so tight, if you get back to back wins, you’re right up there.

“As daft as it sound, you are better off winning two and losing two, than you are drawing four.”

Norwich are without a win in four and have slipped from the summit of the division down into fifth place.

“They have got Premier League players and at this moment they are adjusting to the Championship,” Gray added.

“It’s important to be putting threes on the board but the most important thing is getting our home form sorted.

“The one thing I do know is that the lads will be trying desperately hard to get that win for the fans.”
