Heart on his sleeve

22 February 2016

Tom Lees says the Owls are right behind Fernando Forestieri and that the squad will move on together after defeat at Preston.

The Wednesday ace was dismissed after the break at Deepdale and Lees believes that Forestieri – the architect of countless positives in the season so far – will come back stronger.

The 26-year-old will be suspended for Tuesday’s clash with QPR and back available for Friday’s trip to league leaders Hull.

He said: “These things happen and Fernando is probably more upset than any of us.

“You win and you lose together, we learn from these things and move on.

“You can see by how Fernando plays, he wears his heart on his sleeve, he is a very emotional player in terms of his desire to win.

“Now we get behind him because it’s important we look after him.

“He will win us games in the future, we’re fully behind him and want him back on the pitch as soon as we can.”
