Former Manchester City man Jeremy Helan is looking forward to returning to The Etihad on Wednesday.

The Owls face the Premier League giants in round three of the Capital One Cup and will head over the Pennines as underdogs for the fixture.

But Helan – who rose through the youth ranks at City – believes the game will bring the best from Wednesday.

When asked if the Owls can upset the odds during the pre-match media call on Monday, Helan answered:

“Why not? They have a lot of quality, they are the champions but it’s a cup game and on the day, you don’t know what might happen.

“We’ve drawn Manchester City and it’s always a pleasure to play against the best.

“Everyone knows what they can do. You look at players like Navas, Milner or Yaya and you know what they are about. You see them week in, week out.

“We will give it our best and see what we can get out of the game.”

On the trip to his former club, he added:

“It’s not been much more than a year since I left and I’m already going back there.

“It’s nice to go back to your old club in a different shirt and I’m really looking forward to it.”
