Jeremy Helan supports Streetgames project

9 February 2015

Owls star Jeremy Helan last week visited teenagers at a Sheffield sports centre as part of a Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme project.

Jeremy visited young people at Concord Sports Centre who take part in the Community Programme’s ‘Streetgames Project’.

He led a question and answer session with the group where participants asked him interesting questions about his career and his life in Sheffield.

Jeremy said: “It was really good to visit the session and the kids asked me really good questions. It’s good that the club works with local community groups and I’m happy I could go a long today and see what they do.”

Helen presented one volunteer Abdi Hassan with a ‘Streetmark’ certificate for progressing through the project to become an assistant coach.

The Community Programme deliver sports clubs to provide opportunities for young people around the city and facilitated them at Ecclesfield School, Wisewood Sport Centre, and Concord Sport Centre.

The programme has also been awarded with a ‘Streetmark’ award for their commitment to community sport.

PFA representative and ex-Owls player Dennis Leman also went along with Jeremy to visit the session.
