Lucas Joao has moved a step closer to being crowned the Championship PFA Fans’ Player of the Month for November.
The striker was named as one of 12 potential candidates to land the prize.
Since then, Joao has scooped the swfc.co.uk November Player of the Month award and is now in the PFA’s top three.
Competing with Joao for the monthly gong are Leeds United’s Alex Mowatt and Derby County’s Andreas Weimann.
Ross Wallace and Fernando Forestieri have won the previous two PFA trophies for September and October.
Joao – the Owls’ top scorer with seven goals – scored three times in November.
Trailing 1-0 against Huddersfield at Hillsborough, the Portuguese international scored two goals to help turn the game in favour of the Owls, with Kieran Lee also on target.
One week later, the 22-year-old was back on the scoresheet, this time heading home a late equaliser in the 2-2 draw at Ewood Park.
