Johnson pens new deal

4 July 2013

Wednesday wing ace Jermaine Johnson has signed a new one-year deal at Hillsborough.

The Jamaican international's new contract will see the forward remain in S6 until summer 2014.

Johnson joined the Owls in January 2007 from Bradford and has since made 224 appearances.

The 33-year-old has scored 29 goals in all competitions and remains as the club’s longest-serving current player – now well into his sixth year.

Johnson made a further 45 appearances in the Owls’ maiden term back in the Championship last season and scored seven goals as Wednesday maintained second tier status.

The pace ace has had a busy summer on the international front and featured twice for Jamaica last month in their World Cup qualifying fixtures against USA and Honduras.

Johnson will link back up with the Owls squad at Middlewood Road this week.
