Keane to finish on a high

1 May 2015

After suffering a frustrating period on the sidelines with an ankle injury, Will Keane is happy to be back in action before the end of his loan spell.

The striker on loan from Manchester United returned last weekend for the clash with Leeds and is hoping to finish on a high at Watford on Saturday.

The 22-year-old has battled his way back to full fitness and said:

“It was frustrating because I felt for the first nine or ten games I was really getting into it, doing well and looking forward to the second half of the loan spell.

“I didn’t want to see my loan spell out being injured, I want to finish it in the right way and I’m eager to get back and help the team get a positive result in the last game.

“I wanted to push myself to get back for the last few games and finish on a high and hopefully I can do that.

“It was really good to get back out there with the lads last weekend, it was a shame about the result but on a personal note I was just glad to get back on the pitch.”

Reflecting on his loan spell at Hillsborough, Keane has taken many positives.

The forward has hit three goals for Wednesday and would like to cap off his loan move by adding to that tally at Vicarage Road.

Looking ahead to the future, the Manchester United product has not ruled out a return in the future.

He added: “I think as a whole it’s been positive. I have had plenty of minutes on the pitch and had a role to play in the team.

“There have been plenty of ups and downs and I’ll take a lot from it.

“I have to go back to United after the weekend and I’ll re-assess things.

“If my options are limited at United I will look at my options and I would like to think that this club would be one.”
