Liam looking forward

Liam Palmer is moving out of the recovery bay and heading back to full fitness, with the first day of pre-season training the target.

Palmer suffered an ankle ligament injury during the latter throes of the campaign, causing end of term frustration for the popular right back.

But the academy product is now looking forward to getting his boots back on when the players report back on 1 July.

He said: “I’m feeling good, my ankle’s coming on great. I’ve been on the treadmill and reached a good percentage on there.

“I’m going away for a couple of weeks but when I come back I will be looking forward to pre-season training.

“The physio said the target should be the first day of pre-season.

“We’ve not rushed it, we’ve taken our time and done everything properly to make sure there is no chance of a re-occurrence.”
