Owls loan duo Royston Drenthe and Hallam Hope have been granted permission by their parent clubs to play for Wednesday in the Capital One Cup.
As a result, both players will be available for selection when the Owls visit Premiership giants Manchester City in the tournament on Wednesday.
Drenthe and Hope are currently on loan at Hillsborough from Reading and Everton respectively.
