Loan watch: Two in two for Lavery

4 March 2015

Owls striker Caolan Lavery is enjoying a productive loan spell with League One side Chesterfield.

The young Canadian has scored three goals for the Spireites, including two in his last two games.

Lavery’s addition to Paul Cook’s squad has helped Chesterfield keep pace with the play-off pack.

During Tuesday evening’s trip to Stadium:MK, Lavery struck in the 90th minute to seal a huge win for Chesterfield, who are now one point outside of the play-off spots.

That strike is the 22-year-old’s second goal in four days after scoring in the Spireites’ 3-0 home win over Fleetwood on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Gary Madine has registered two goals in five during his loan spell at Blackpool.

The former Carlisle man scored a late consolation in the Tangerines’ home defeat to Wigan on Saturday and bagged his maiden goal in the dramatic 4-4 draw with Nottingham Forest last month.
