Last Sunday’s Owls in the Park was a massive success with more people than ever attending the club’s community day including Sheffield City Council’s Lord Mayor Councillor Talib Hussain.
Joining leading Sheffield charities and organisations the Lord Mayor took time to meet fans and players throughout the day which saw thousands of people visit Hillsborough Park.
The event saw almost 30 charities set up camp to raise money and awareness for their organisations with many of them offering something different to the event including South Yorkshire’s biggest dog show from Support Dogs and Star Wars characters from St. Luke’s Hospice.
Lord Mayor Cllr Talib Hussain said: “It was great to see so many families out in force this weekend at the community funday. I was honoured to meet so many hard working fundraisers. Sheffielders really show their true steel at events like this – raising cash for those who need it most.”
