Gary Madine has joined League One side Carlisle United on an emergency loan deal.
The Owls’ striker will stay with the Cumbrians until the end of the current campaign.
Madine returns to where he spent his formative football years at his hometown club.
Wednesday’s head coach Stuart Gray said: “Gary needs some first team football and with the options I have at the moment, he would find it hard to get into the team.
“He is familiar with Carlisle, he has played over 50 games for them in the past, so this is a good opportunity for him.”
Madine will be eligible to play in Carlisle’s trip to Tranmere on Saturday.
