18 August 2014

The charity partner for Sheffield Wednesday's game against Derby was Sheffield-based organisation Support Dogs, a charity that specialises in training assistance dogs for children and adults with a wide range of conditions.

The charity is a registered UK assistance dog charity dedicated to transform the lives of people with epilepsy physical disabilities and children with autism.

As reported on the facing page, Support Dogs held one of Sheffield’s biggest dog shows at Owls in the Park that saw local dos compete in several divisions including cutest pup and best biscuit catcher!

The charity raised more than £3,000 at the fun day which will go towards their ongoing fundraising aims.

The charity also ran demonstrations with the their dogs in training to showcase the range of skills used to increase the independence of people affected by illness.

The charity currently operates to serve people in the South Yorkshire area and are continually working to raise as much money as possible to serve as many people as they can accommodate.
