Mixing it up

  • Stuart Gray has hinted at changes for Charlton clash
  • Keiren Westwood to be monitored with hip injury
  • Joe Mattock back available from suspension

Owls defender Joe Mattock is back available for selection having served his one-match ban at Hillsborough last time out.

The left back will face competition from Claude Dielna, who stepped in last weekend and helped the Owls keep their ninth clean sheet of the season against Norwich.

Elsewhere and Wednesday are monitoring in-form goalkeeper Keiren Westwood who picked up a hip injury during the 0-0 draw with the Canaries.

Lewis Buxton (knee) is back in training and Caolan Lavery (knee) is around three to four weeks away.

Head coach Stuart Gray said: “Keiren has got a bit of a hip injury and we’ll see how he is on Friday and that is a little bit of a concern for him.

“Lewis Buxton is back out on the training pitch running so fingers crossed he will stay out there.

“Caolan Lavery has got his boots back on but he will be around three to four weeks before he can get a game.”

The Owls boss has also hinted at making changes ahead of the trip to The Valley.

He added: “I think we need to mix it up a little bit. Credit to the players for their effort and commitment but as it has shown at the moment, we are falling a little short in the final third.

“So we are looking at those areas to strengthen.”
