- More than £5,000 raised for local charities at Owls in the Park.

Sheffield Wednesday’s annual family community day, Owls in the Park, this year went bigger and better in every sense – and raised more than £5,000 for local charities!
Charities who attended the day and ran various fun activities for supporters were Bluebell Wood, The Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity, The Sheffield Royal Society for the Blind, Support Dogs, Diabetes UK and the ‘Eden Dora Trust’ a charity that specialises in raising awareness for Encephalitis.
The Tropical Butterfly House charity also attended on the day and brought along real life Owls and other tropical animals and raised much needed funds for the organisations.
The club are extremely proud to have been able to facilitate the charities in their fundraising appeals and cannot thank Owls fans enough for their huge generosity and kindness.
The Sheffield Royal Society for the Blind held a unique teddy bear parachute at the family fun day where hundreds of teddy bears jumped from a crane to raise money for the charity.
The Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity hosted stalls with fun activities for guests to get involved in as well as selling merchandise.
Support Dogs held a special dog show on the day and saw many dogs go up for contention in different categories. The charity also ran demonstrations with their dogs in training to showcase the range of skills used to increase the independence of people affected by autism, epilepsy and physical disability.
Bluebell Wood – the SWFC Community Programme’s official charity partner, held various fun activities including a lucky dip, tombola and other games. The organisation also held an official bucket collection to raise funds for the charity.
Owls in the Park 2014 attractedin thousands of Owls fans and Hillsborough Park was yet again a sea of blue and white.. From everyone at Sheffield Wednesday, we thank Owls fans for their generosity and support to both the club and the benefitting charities.
