Much more to give

16 March 2016

Aiden McGeady says the performance at Forest was his best so far for the Owls but insists he has far more to give.

McGeady smashed home his first goal for Wednesday at The City Ground and now aims to kick on from that display in Nottingham at the weekend.

With more gears to go up to, the Everton loanee said:

“The Forest performance was my best for the club but that comes with playing games.

“I had been out for almost a year and I was always going to go through a patch like I have where things don’t quite go for you.

“But I’ve got far more to give to this team and plenty of time to do it.”

Describing the moment he fired the Owls into the lead last weekend, the tricky winger said it was a great feeling and one he perhaps needed in the blue and white of Wednesday.

“It was a great feeling, the team winning was the main thing but personally I think I needed that,” he explained.

“It’s been a bit stop-start for me but I want to get back playing and show what I can do and really kick on.

“It was great timing, the fans were right there and it just felt natural to run towards them.

“It was a big win and it could have been more.

“We have to remain focused because there are no easy games in this division.

“Cardiff keep winning games, Ipswich had a good win so it’s tight but we need to maintain and cement our position in the top six.”
