No easy games

  • Liam Palmer expecting tough Norwich test
  • Defender pleased with defensive record
  • Canaries head to Hillsborough four points off top spot

The Owls have racked up 18 points from 13 games this season, which have included fixtures against four of the current top six sides in the Championship.

Wednesday are set for another tough outing at the weekend, facing a promotion favourite in Norwich, who also reside in the top six.

Awash with experienced Premier League players, Liam Palmer expects another difficult test as the Canaries head to Hillsborough.

“There are no easy games in this league,” he said. “No team comes to lay down and die.

“You have got to fight and earn the right in every game and that’s what we’ll look to do.

“We have been good but now we must start picking up wins because that’s what you want at the end of the day.”

Wednesday’s shutout against Brentford on Tuesday was their eighth clean sheet in all competitions this term.

As a part of the defensive unit, Palmer is pleased with this record but wants to turn draws into wins in order to take that next step forward.

He added: “We got to seven clean sheets very quickly and it’s been a bit frustrating that we haven’t kept more recently.

“We have got to keep doing the basics well and stay compact as a unit.

“We steadied the ship and got back to the level we want to be at, in terms of the defence, at Brentford.

“We just need to start converting more of our chances.”
