No surprise, says Carlos

Carlos Carvalhal says the red hot goalscoring form of Gary Hooper has come as no surprise.

The former Celtic man has plundered ten goals from his last 11 games in a manner of varieties.

From goal line tap-ins to Goal of the Day stunners, Hooper has continued to go from strength to strength and the head coach said:

“It’s not a surprise to me, absolutely. I must tell you that this is not a surprise.

“He is doing what he likes to do, he is enjoying how we play and is doing goals because he enjoys the way we are playing.

“As I tell you, this is a natural consequence of the dynamic of the team.”

The Owls have exuded confidence in recent weeks which has been converted into results, as Wednesday have moved five points clear in the play-off positions.

The head coach is happy with the way his squad are going about their work in training and the games and as that continues ahead of the trip to Preston, he said:

“We can feel that all the players are enjoying the way that we play and when you enjoy, when you have organisation, when we give freedom but at the same time responsibility, the players can explore the abilities they have.

“I am happy with all of them.”
