On an upward curve

  • Stuart Gray wary of Wolves threat
  • Owls on an upward curve and confident
  • SWFC: One defeat from last eight games

Owls head coach Stuart Gray wants his side to continue on their upward curve.

Wednesday have lost just four in 20 league games this term but made positive strides forward in the Championship after posting successive wins over Wigan and Blackburn.

Struggling Wolves are next-up at Hillsborough and while Gray wants to add a third straight win to the run, the Owls boss is expecting a tough ride.

“They are in a bit of a rut but will be thinking things can quickly turn as Nottingham Forest and Norwich have shown.

“Kenny is a very experienced manager and I’m sure he will be trying to fire his players up.

“He will be telling his players that Sheffield Wednesday haven’t got too many results at home so they might look at the game as a release for them to go away from Molineux to try and get that win on the board.”

But as Wednesday bid to bridge the gap to the play-off positions, Gray added:

“If we’ve got all the players at it, I’ve got every confidence we will win the game on Saturday.

“We always had that self-belief and knew our fortunes would change.

“We are now on the upward curve but we have got to make sure we carry it on and not get carried away. That’s the important thing.”
