Brentford manager Mark Warburton has spoken of his surprise at the result at Griffin Park on Tuesday given the nature of the game.

Both Brentford and Wednesday created chances in the Championship fixture but neither could convert in the entertaining capital clash.

In a game that saw both sides enjoy productive spells, the Bees boss said:

“I don’t think it was a 0-0 game.

“We started really well in the first 25 minutes, I thought we were excellent but didn't get the reward.

“Sheffield Wednesday were dangerous, we gave away a few set pieces and they had good delivery.

“We knew the threat they posed.

“They dominated the last 15 minutes of the first half but I was very pleased with the way we came out in the second half.

“It was a good end-to-end game of football.

“There were a few tight offsides and we felt there were one or two very close calls.

“There are fine margins and we need to be more clinical in front of goal."
