The Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme, in conjunction with the club’s academy, are sending a coaching delegation to Ireland early next month.
The trip will aim to unearth the cream of available talent in the 12-16 age group in Ireland with a view to identifying players suitable for further assessment at Middlewood Road.
The Owls’ contingent will be led by Head of Coach Development John Williams and the academy’s Ireland Scout Paddy Waters, who together will filter the players through to academy Head of Recruitment Ken Ryder.
A selection of Irish youth internationals are expected to attend the coaching sessions.
The week-long coaching camp will take place in County Wexford, Eire.
