Sheffield Wednesday are proud to launch a unique partnership in memory of late soldier, Fusilier Lee Rigby.
The affiliation, ‘Team Lee Rigby United Forces’, will offer help and support emotionally, socially and financially to Armed Forces’ families who have suffered bereavement.
In addition, it will aid the millions who have served or are currently serving in the Forces and their dependents.
Lee’s mother Lyn Rigby and her family will be special guests of the club for the Easter Monday home game against Charlton Athletic.
Lyn will be conducting the half time 50/50 draw and will be joined on the pitch by another VIP for the day, Paralympic Team GB skier and lifelong Wednesdayite Mick Brennan.
Mick is an ex-military sergeant in the bomb disposal team serving in Iraq and tragically lost both lower parts of his legs in action. He will join Lyn at Hillsborough to show his support for Team Lee.
To mark this ground breaking partnership, the Owls will shortly be selling custom-made Team Lee wristbands, with all proceeds going to the organisation.
Sheffield-based promotional gifts supplier, Steel City Marketing, have produced and donated 5,000 wristbands.

Lyn Rigby added: “It’s so good to have support from a club like Sheffield Wednesday as they care so much about charitable causes.
“I was told of the incredible unity shown by Wednesday fans and Glasgow Rangers fans in Lee’s memory when they met at Hillsborough last summer and I was completely overwhelmed.
“Everyone at the club has made us feel so welcome, which has been so touching for all the family.
“Sheffield Wednesday will help drive Lee’s memory in a positive way and ensure his legacy is long-lasting.
“Lee loved his football so it seems perfectly fitting to honour his memory in this way.”
