Owls must perform says Ross

13 April 2016

With talent right throughout the squad, experienced winger Ross Wallace firmly believes everyone must show their best week in, week out or risk losing their place.

The Scot says there are players chomping at the bit and working hard every day to get into the matchday 18 and starting 11.

And as Wednesday look to secure a play-off spot in the coming weeks, Wallace says knowing that players are waiting in the wings to step up on a matchday is a real plus and explained:

“That’s what happens with the kind of squad we have got and the head coach is not scared to change it.

“If you’re not playing well or even at half time, if you’re not at it you’ll be taken off, it’s as simple as that.

“It’s one of those things that keeps everybody on their toes, we have got good players who can come in and take your position if you’re not at the races.

“That is something that is good for the squad, good for the club but everybody wants to do well for each other.

“If you win games, you get rewards at the end of the season so it’s important we stick together and push in the right direction.”

On the strength of the squad, he continued: “Marco had an injury but he is on his way back and looking sharp in training, Lewis McGugan is looking for a way back in, Semedo trains like an animal every day and I’ve got the marks to prove it!

“He trains hard every day and is so professional so there are a lot of options for the manager.”
